Yerevan Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan Participates in the 5th Armenia–France Decentralized Cooperation Conference
The 5th Armenia–France Decentralized Cooperation Conference was held this year in the town of Goris. Yerevan Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan attended the event.
In his welcoming remarks, Deputy Mayor Hovhannisyan emphasized the importance of strengthening decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France, particularly with partner cities and regions across various sectors. He noted that Yerevan maintains active collaboration with Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, and the Regional Council of Île-de-France. A wide range of joint programs are being implemented in areas such as education, culture, tourism, economy, architecture, urban development, landscaping, etc.
“This cooperation has been made possible through two-year and three-year agreements, which not only ensure stable and consistent collaboration but are also aligned with the reforms undertaken by local communities. I am confident that today’s conference will pave the way for new, mutually beneficial partnerships,” stated Deputy Mayor Hovhannisyan.
Within the framework of the conference, Deputy Mayor Hovhannisyan also held meetings with Anne-Louise Mesadieu, Vice President of Île-de-France Region, and Hélène Duvivier, Vice President of Lyon Metropolis. The parties reviewed ongoing projects and explored opportunities for further cooperation.
