Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr. Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.

Greeting the guest, Mayor Marutyan congratulated him on assuming his diplomatic mission in Armenia and expressed hope in further development of relationship between Yerevan and the partner cities of Iran.

Hayk Marutyan expressed hope that the situation with the COVID-19 epidemic will improve and tourists from Iran will again come to visit our hospitable capital city.
Ambassador Zohouri in his turn noted that the warm relationship formed between Armenia and Iran historically has significant potential for development.
The parties expressed willingness to take practical steps to expand and develop the relationship.
