On the event of the 100th anniversary of Hovhannes Shiraz the members of the Government commission engaged in jubilee events, a number of art workers and art loving people visited the Pantheon after Komitas to render the tribute of the respect to the memory of the poet.

The members of the commission and those present put wreaths and flowers at the poet’s grave. The schoolchildren recited his poems then those present listened to the records in which the author was reciting his poems himself. On the event of the poet’s 100th birthday a number of events are to be held in general education and art schools of the capital. The year is to be summarized in October with a jubilee event.The jubilee will be also marked with a re-publication of some works by Hovhannes Shiraz.

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan is a member of the Government commission arranging the jubilee events.
