On June 10 “Yerevan with flair” is held in Yerevan for the 3rd time

At the initiative of Yerevan Municipality and the NGO “For keeping and development of the traditions of Armenian cuisine”, within the frames of the three-month program of events “Yerevan summer 2017” the festival of Armenian cuisine is going to be held for the 3rd time. The festival is held on June 10, from 17:00 till 21:00 in the park after Tumanyan nearby Kievyan bridge.
During the press-conference the head of tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality Gevorg Orbelyan and the chairman of the NGO “For keeping and development of the traditions of Armenian cuisine” Sedrak Mamulyan presented the details of the event.
In particular it was mentioned that the aim of the festival is to unite the leading specialists presenting the cooking skills and to introduce the national Armenian cuisine to the townspeople and the guests.

The pavilions taking part in the festival will be competing in three main nominations-“The best decorated pavilion”, “The most hospitable pavilion” and “The most delicious pavilion”.

For the first time the Yerevan dish of the year will be determined in the nomination “Yerevan salad”.
“The festival, event tourism is our strategic direction to which we attach big importance. “Yerevan with flair” has a particular role among tourist events of Yerevan, that is why the tourism unit of the Municipality provides tourist companies this information in advance so that they can make use of the potential of the festival. And taking into account the fact that “Yerevan with flair” is increasingly becoming more popular we expect a big tourist flow”, said Gevorg Orbelyan.
Attaching importance to the role and significance of the traditional Armenian cuisine, Sedrak Mamulyan noted, “This festival is the main culinary event as the festive and ritual dishes give a birth to our national cuisine. These dishes are served during both folk and church feasts. That’s why we tried to present the ritual of the feasts as much as possible”.
The festival will be accompanied by the concert program in which folk dance and vocal groups will take park. Like the previous year, this year the organizers of the festival will be assisted by the volunteers from Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after V. Bryusov who will present traditional ritual dishes and tell about the feasts.
