An Armenian khachkar will be placed in Pesaro, Italy
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the chairman of the city council of Pesaro, Italy Ilart Barbanti who arrived in Yerevan to take part in «Erebuni-Yerevan 2796» celebration. Greeting the guest Taron Margaryan thanked him for visiting Yerevan for the second time and taking part in «Erebuni-Yerevan» celebration. «the relationship established between our cities is really warm and friendly which is proved with your visit to Yerevan and your proposal to install the khachkar symbolizing the friendship between our cities which we presented to the city in Pesaro. The khachkar will be presented to the 100th anniversary of the Great Genocide. And particularly taking into account that in 2015 the 100th anniversary of that massacre will be marked the placement of the khachkar in Pesaro is a tribute of respect to the memory of the victims of 1915 Genocide and will be another evidence of appreciation of human values», said the Mayor.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception and congratulating on the festival the chairman of Pesaro city council Ilart Barbanti expressed confidence that the relations between Yerevan and Pesaro will become more practical and tight in the future. «Mister Mayor, we also attach importance to the placement of the Armenian khachkar dedicated to the 100th anniuversary of the Armenian Genocide in Pesaro. I assure you that it will find its proper place in our city and we will be able to open the khachkar together», stressed Ilart Barbanti.
At the end of the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan conveyed his greetings to the newly-elected Mayor of Pesaro Matet Rizzi and invited him to visit Yerevan.
