«Jazz for human values»: Yerevan marks International Jazz Day

30.04.2016

For the 5th year running Yerevan has marked the International Jazz Day on April 30. Popular Armenian jazzmen Levon Malkhasyan (Malkhas), Armen Tutunjyan (Chico), the Pop and Symphonic Orchestra of the RA Public TV and Radio headed by Yervand Yerznkyan, as well as young jazzmen with their bands took part in the open-air concert held in the area of the cultural and architectural complex «Cascade».

The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan was present at the event.
The main amazement for jazz lovers was the performance of the guest of the event-the jazz legend, famous bass-guitarist Richard Bona. Together with the band of Armen Hyusnunts Richard Bona performed «Lorik» by Komitas at the accompaniment of duduk.
Another surprise was the performance of the popular singer Roberto Kel Torres who presented the premiere of a song about Armenia. Jazz rhythms attracted not only townspeople but also the guests of the capital to the «Cascade» complex.
