Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan hosted the author and the main organizer of the global festival of science and art “STARMUS” (Stars and Music), the Armenian astrophysicist Garik Israelian. The festival brings together the world-known scientists, cosmonauts, musicians, the Nobel Prize laureates. This year the 6th STARMUS festival is to be held in Armenia. During the meeting the parties discussed the organizational issues related to holding the 6th STARMUS festival. Hayk Marutyan stressed that the Municipality will do everything within its powers to assist in proper holding of the festival in Yerevan.

The members of the STARMUS Board are the member of “Queen” rock group Brian May, the world-famous scientist Emmanuelle Charpentier, the astrophysicists Jill Tarter and Robert Williams, the musician Peter Gabriel, other eminent representatives of the sphere of science and art. The initiative of holding the festival in Armenia was promoted by the RA President Armen Sarkissian.
