Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan was present at the ceremony of unveiling the monument dedicated to Yerevan’s 2800th anniversary in the park after azatamartik Arthur Karapetyan. Having thanked the creative group Yerevan Mayor expressed confidence that the monument will become a special symbol of 2800-year-old Yerevan for subsequent generations.
“Yerevan is 2800, can you imagine it-the city we live in is so ancient, with such wonderful and rich history. This monument is a fine present for Yerevan. It is not only just a work of art. In 2800 years it will become an evidence for our successors who while doing excavations will find out that 2800 years ago in Yerevan lived people respecting their history, proud and happy citizens. It’s not a coincidence that the monument is located in the park after the participant of Artsakh war Arthur Karapetyan. We are grateful to those men owing to which we can enjoy this sunny peaceful day”, said Hayk Marutyan.
The honor of opening was given to Mayor Hayk Marutyan and architect Tigran Barseghyan. The author of the monument is architect Tigran Barseghyan, the sculptor is Mher Simonyan.
