Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutayn visited the families of the servicemen Yura Alaverdyan and Edgar Markosyan who had been awarded with the highest title “Artsakh Hero” for the defence of the Artsakh.
For the contribution to Homeland defence and security during the battles in the current Artsakh war, for exceptional bravery and personal courage the AR President Arayik Harutyunyan awarded the Yerevanian guys with “Golden Eagle” order. Their families learnt about their sons’ heroism from TV news.
Expressing gratitude for instilling such patriotism in their children Mayor Hayk Marutyan noted that the heroism of these guys encourages others and provides winning spirit at the forefront.
Yura Alaverdyan struck 9 tanks and 1 military vehicle during the battle at Fizouli. Edgar Markosyan shot 10 tanks.
Edgar Markosyan’s mother is a teacher and she goes on upbringing a patriotic generation.
The Alaverdyans are sure that the fight for life and death will end with victory.
