Mayor Taron Margaryan watched the process of snow cleaning going on in the capital
Snow cleaning activities are still going on in the administrative districts of the capital. Mayor Taron Margaryan watched the process on the spots. It was reported that the process of snow cleaning and removing is going on not only in the main streets but in the secondary streets and yard areas as well. The Mayor noted that currently their main task is to eliminate the results of abundant snowfalls.
«During heavy snowfalls our priority task is to provide passability of streets for transport flows and we have been able to do it. After the snowfalls cessation the main task is to remove the snow piles accumulated while cleaning the snow in the squares, crossings and pavements. This process is going on at the moment. By the way, trucks have removed the snow from the streets more than 5000 times», said the Mayor adding that the Road Police and Emergency services have cooperated with the Municipality in the snow cleaning activities. It should be noted that the fallen from December 30 till January 2 was 45 cm thick. According to the weathermen, a monthly ratio of precipitation has fallen within three days.
On the Mayor's instruction the employees and machinery of the communal services and landscaping companies of the administrative districts have been involved in the process to assist «Sanitek» company carrying out the cleaning activities.
«From the very beginning 180 units if specialized machinery of «Sanitek» company have been involved in snow cleaning activities. Taking into account the incessancy of snow additional 170 units of various machinery owned by private companies were involved in the process as well», said the Mayor.
Taron Margaryan instructed the persons in charge to go on snow cleaning activities in 24-hour regime and to concentrate on rapid removal of the snow piled in the streets and yard areas. It was also instructed to start snow and icicles removal from the roofs of blocks of flats and public buildings. Totally, 1200 employees of communal services, landscaping companies, condominiums, private companies and «Sanitek» company have been involved in the process.
