Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the military units of the RA Ministry of Defense located in the capital and had a meeting with the fixed-period servicemen. Greeting them the Mayor wished them a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas as well as a good service.
«As you know, the Municipality of Yerevan jointly with the RA Ministry of Defense has initiated a number of actions aimed at strengthening of ties between the army and the society for two years running. One of these actions is the organization of the meeting of the soldiers from Yerevan with their parents. This is another opportunity to state that we are always next to our soldiers and their families. Be sure that the Municipality of Yerevan within its powers will go on being side by side with the army, soldiers and their families. I wish all of you a Happy New Year. Let the year of 2015 be a year of peace»,-said Taron Margaryan.
Afterwards, accompanied by the commander of the unit Major-General Ishkhan Matevosyan, the Mayor walked about the units, familiarized himself with the conditions, talked with the soldiers. Having thanked Mayor Taron Margaryan for permanent care and support, the fixed-period servicemen assured that they guard the borders of their homeland with great responsibility and honour. Within the frames of the visit, a computer, TV-sets were granted to the unit by the Mayor of Yerevan, and the soldiers got festive presents.
