Mayor Taron Margaryan visits Soghomon Tehleryan’s square in Marseille

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan who arrived in Marseille with an official visit on the event of the 25th anniversary of signing the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between Yerevan and Marseille, accompanied by the RA Consul General in Marseille Vardan Sirmakes and Marseille Vice Mayor Didier Parakyan, visited the square which this year was officially named after Soghomon Tehleryan. The Ra Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan who was in Marseille too joined them at the square.
The Ra Consul General in Marseille informed Yerevan Mayor and the members of the delegation that the official ceremony of naming the square took place this year, on April 21 prior to the Armenian Genocide anniversary. Vardan Sirmakes also noted that Marseille Mayor Jean-Claude Gaudin, public and political figures, representatives off the Armenian community of France took part in the official ceremony of naming the square organized by Marseille Municipality and the Council for Coordination of Armenian Organizations of France.
Together with those present Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan laid flowers and the memorial board testifying the naming of the square.
