Fines for city pollution will increase

The city authorities have passed the ordinance to increase the fines for city pollution. During the regular working meeting Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan instructed to take steps to regulate the problem of the city pollution by trucks and concrete mixers via increasing the fines. It should be noted that the penalty provided for the pollution of the traffic area is 30000 dram and the RA Road Police and the patrol service are responsible for the implementation of the fine.

In accordance with the subsidiary treaty, the reconstruction and modernization of the lighting network of “Maternity” park in Malatia-Sebastia district has started.

The lighting network and irrigation system of the 4th segment of Circular park is going to be updated completely. It was instructed to work out the project in teamwork with “Yerkaghluys” company and “Landscaping and Environment Protection” NCO.

The park after Komitas will also have modernized irrigation system and external lighting network. To draw up the project of effective lighting system harmonizing with the park it was instructed to cooperate with the partners from the UN Armenian office.

The process of cleaning up the basements of residential buildings in Davtashen administrative district has been over. It was instructed to carry out the process in the basements of secondary schools of the capital decommissioning unusable properties.

The roof of the Yerevan Sport School of Figure Skating and Hockey needs renovation. Taking into account the urgency of the problem it was instructed to carry out the program this year.

Those drivers who break “red lines” will get messages on their telephones. The community intends to have another tool for notification about illegalities. Currently the Municipality notifies violators via postal services of “Azdarar” website. The Mayor stressed that the goal of community is not to fine residents but to create another available way to notify in case of violation.

In 2009, the Council of Elders of Yerevan passed the ordinance related to obligatory improvement of public areas adjacent to real estate and its surroundings. Accordingly, economy entities are obliged to keep the areas clean, remove snow and ice accumulations, landscape and green the lawns. Of existing 14167 entities 6508 have been notified. Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan instructed to be consistent and ensure proper arrangement of the work and brought the examples of entities that implement the Council’s decision.
