A few months ago the general manager of Saint-Petersburg Institute of Design “ASPO” Viktor Berezin sent to Yerevan Chief Architect TigranBarseghyanan official letterwith a meeting request. MrBerezin informed that the 16-member delegation consisted of directors, architects, engineers of the design institutes of Russia, within the frames of their visit to Georgia and Armenia would like to familiarize themselves with the architecture of to Caucasian countries as well as to have meetings with the chief architects of the capitals.

In Yerevan the members of the Russian delegation were hosted by the Chief Architect of Yerevan TigranBarseghyan. The president of the Union of Architects of Armenia MkrtichMinasyan, his deputy Alexander Badalyan, the director of the Union of Builders GurgenMinasyan also took part in the meeting. Greeting the guests Yerevan Chief Architect TigranBarseghyan presented in brief the features of the Armenian Architecture. At the request of the members of the delegation a reference was made to the history of different architectural constructions realized in the capital at different time, to the innovations made in modern architecture, to the cooperation between private sector and state bodies in this sphere, to investment programs and to the role of architects in the process of building designing. The interaction carried out with the Russian companies of this sphere and possible programs of experience exchange and further plans were discussed during the meeting. The members of the delegation thanked for warm welcome and noted that the discussions referring particularly to Yerevan architecture were very useful form the professional point of view.
