Issues related to the cooperation between Yerevan Municipality and the European Investment Bank (EIB) were discussed
Yerevan Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan met with Matteo Rivellini, Head of Division in charge of Public Sector Lending Operations in the Eastern Neighborhood Countries at the European Investment Bank, and Maciej Czura, Head of the EIB Regional Representation for the South Caucasus.
As part of the initial phase of the cooperation, 14 out of the 15 kindergartens have already been reconstructed. Additionally, 47 public buildings are currently undergoing renovation, which includes the installation of photovoltaic panels, solar water heaters, boilers, and the modernization of lighting systems.
In the current second phase of the project, reconstruction works will be expanded to include 32 additional kindergartens and six polyclinics. This phase encompasses both seismic reinforcement and the implementation of energy-efficient construction solutions.
Deputy Mayor Hovhannisyan particularly highlighted the effective collaboration established with the EIB, emphasizing the Bank’s contribution not only in terms of financial assistance, but also through the exchange of advanced expertise and knowledge. This, in turn, substantially enhances the Municipality’s capacity, particularly in the development of sustainable, environmentally friendly infrastructure and in the construction sector.
