First meeting of Urban Development Council adjunct to Mayor has been held
The first meeting of the new Urban Development Council adjunct to the Mayor of Yerevan has been held. Stressing the importance of the activity of a professional team Yerevan Mayor, the Chairman of the Council Hayk Marutyan noted that the work of the Council will let the city develop in a right direction.
“Today we are breaking many stereotypes in the sphere of urban development in the context of new approaches, and we certainly must have preventive mechanisms. Today we give building permissions to everyone, at the same time Yerevan must have its unique look”, said he Mayor.
According to Mayor Marutyan, the main and most important for Yerevan projects will be submitted to the Council f Urban Development adjunct to the Mayor, and the decisions will be made after comprehensive studies.
The new Urban Development Council includes experienced architects of different generations.
Two draft proposals were presented during the first meeting of the Council: the draft for the construction of a new block of flats at 15,Paronyan street and the draft for a multi-functional building at 66,barbus street. As a result of the discussions and voting the decision was made to send the first draft for re-consideration and the second draft was rejected by the majority of votes.
