For the third year in a row Yerevan Municipality has joined the series of events dedicated to the EU Sustainable Energy Week and initiated a number of actions. This year the actions were completed with “Sustainable Technology” exposition held in the park after Diana Abgar.

In 20 pavilions, the companies producing solar systems, thermo-insulation and hydro-insulation materials, LED lamps presented their products with smart and green ideas aimed at energy efficiency and energy saving. In the first pavilion Yerevan Municipality presented its programs being fulfilled in the city. The students of Hakob Kojoyan educational centre took part in the exhibition and presented thematic pictures: the planet without emissions and with renewable energy. Everyone could take the opportunity to create some art work on environmental theme.
The First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan together with the leader of “My Step” faction Armen Galjyan and the head of the Department of Development and Investment Programs Armen Harutyunyan visited the exposition to get to know about the possibilities to use the products in community establishments.
Levon Hovhannisyan stressed the importance of such public events as they increase population’s awareness of energy efficiency. Yerevan Municipality carries out several related programs at the same time.
The goal of Sustainable Energy Week is to raise people’s awareness of the climate changes, energy efficiency, renewable energy and adaptation. Prior to this event, the Department of Development and Investment Projects of Yerevan Municipality had organized a two-day seminar entitled “Aware Generation-Sustainable Future”. The winning team was awarded in the City Hall. A one-month campaign for awareness of the mentioned above problems had been announced as well.
