Floating Solar Photovoltaic Station in Yerevan
The first and the only floating solar photovoltaic station in the region has opened on Yerevan Lake. This experimental project will benefit development of the sphere of renewable energy and energetic independence of Armenia. The station was built by the initiative of the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund (R2E2) and with the financial support of the French Government. The program comprising of several phases started in 2021: as a result of technical and environmental studies it was decided to implement the project in Yerevan.
Yerevan intends to switch to fully “green” energy consumption. The community considers the spheres of energetics and energy efficiency to be not only the precondition for creating a safe, smart and competitive urban economy but also an effective tool for solving environmental problems.
