The municipal kindergartens of Yerevan will have long day care services even for one child. The fees for the service is 5000 drams per month. About 100 kindergartens already have already been providing extended hours of services.
According to the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of General Education Margarit Khachatryan, all kindergartens have necessary facilities to provide the long day care services, which will make it possible for working parents to leave their kids in the preschool till the end of the work day.The service is available for everyone even if there is only one child.The municipal kindergartens of Yerevan will have long day care services even for one child. Additional educational paid services are also available. They mainly involve dance, foreign languages, painting, and decorative art clubs. The amount to be charged is to pay the teacher for overtime work. This year Yerevan Municipality handled a 10%-30% pay rise for kindergarten teachers. All employees of kindergartens got 10%-30% pay rise. Preschool teachers can get additional payments for categories. All teachers who participated in refresher courses can apply for a category.
The improvement of the sphere of general education is permanent. New initiatives are expected to be carried out within the current year.
