The new garbage trucks purchased by the Municipality of Yerevan, are working in different administrative districts of the capital in accordance with the determined schedule. During the weekly working conference the Mayor was reported that the activities are organized in the areas where the problem is the most urgent. At least 20 more new garbage trucks are going to be purchased in near future. Touching upon the work of “Sanitek” company, Mayor Marutyan once again called them to meet their contractual liabilities, to refresh the rolling stock and to provide proper number of waste containers.

As regards the problem of stray animals, it was reported that the Municipality of Yerevan got the government certificate for purchasing necessary anesthetics for animals. As result, last week 62 dogs were sterilized. The work will be continued, and it is planned to organize it in two shifts.

748 tenders for purchases were announced for the municipal needs and on the costs of the city budget. The Mayor was reported that the results of 554 purchase tenders had been summarized, and as a result the contracts for AMD 8 milliards 614 million were signed and AMD 1 milliard 801 million was saved. Mayor Marutyan stressed that the Municipality will keep the quality of work done by the companies won the tenders under control

The Chief Architect of Yerevan was assigned to organize an open competition for the design of the memorial to the victims of March 1.

A republican Saturday clean-up has been announced for June 8. It was instructed to organize the activities properly.
