New medical center opened in the capital

 The medical center “Slavmed” opened in the capital. The RA President Serzh Sargsyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the RA Minister of Health Care Derenik Dumanyan, other officials and the guests from abroad were present at the ceremony of opening. The honour of opening the newly-built center was given to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and to the founder of the center Armine Hovakimyan. The construction of the building started in 2012 in the building of former factory «Precision instruments». The main area of the badly-arranged building of 3603 sq m with its surrounding areas of 1500 sq m were overhauled in 2005. The amount of total investment made up AMD 5 million.
The founder-director of the MC Armine Hovakimyan noted that the creation of “Slavmed” aims to replenish the number of hospitals in Armenia with another medical establishment corresponding to European standards and providing multi-profile medical services. The head of the Republic accompanied by the RA Health Care Minister walked about the center to familiarize themselves with the facilities of the hospital, talked with the staff. The MC has 180 employees, 55 of which are physicians and 75 are medical workers. In a few months the medical establishment will be replenished with 20 narrow specialists and equipment. Armine Hovakimyan noted that the center is saturated with the medical equipment of the latest generation and with the specialists passed corresponding trainings. As a result un up-to-date medical center with high-quality diagnostic and treatment equipment  has been created: it has 5 operating rooms, a maternity home, departments of intensive therapy, gynecology, endoscopy, general,micro and plastic surgery, orthopedy, traumatology, urology, vascular and ear, nose, throat (ENT) departments, as well as provides laboratory and diagnostic services, including X-ray and computer-aided tomography. The rooms of the center correspond to modern European requirements. Presenting the further plans the director of the center also added that “Slavmed” MC plans to invite well-known and experienced specialists from abroad to provide permanent trainings fro Armenian doctors.
