By the initiative of the Lithuania Embassy in the RA and with the assistance of Yerevan Municipality, on May 21 the musical event called Street Music's Day will be held in Yerevan for the first time. During the convened press conference the details were presented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Armenia Erikas Petrikas and the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture and Tourism Ruben Hovhannisyan. Referring to the cooperation with Yerevan Municipality the Ambassador said that the idea of holding this event had been immediately improved by Yerevan Mayor.

“I am really glad that Mayor Taron Margaryan has improved the idea of holding the event in Yerevan at once. I should be noted that this year is of particular importance for both our countries as Armenia and Lithuania are marking the 25th anniversary of their diplomatic relationship. This musical event is also related to the jubilee, particularly because Lithuania was the first country to recognize Armenia's independence”, said the Ambassador.
The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture and Tourism Ruben Hovhannisyan in his turn presented the details of the event. In particular, on May 21 various music groups and individual performers will come up on the stage in Northern avenue, in the area adjacent of the National Academic theater of Opera and Ballet after Al. Spendiaryan.
“On May 21, from 16.00 till 20.00 the event will be held on the 10 stages constructed in Northern avenue, and from 20.00 the official part will be held in Charles Aznavour square and popular Lithuanian musicians will take part in the gala concert”, said Ruben Hovhannisyan. In addition, Erikas Petrikas also noted that those who want to take part in the event have to check in beforehand and show their musical abilities.
By the way, Street Music's Day is very popular in Lithuania and has been held there for 10 years.
