Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with other officials took part in the solemn ceremony of opening of the multi-function block of flats built at Tsitsernakaberdi ½ in the capital. On the basis of the suggestions made by the special inter-departmental commission formed on the instruction of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan,within the scope of the RA Government decree 342-A, dated 04.04.2013, flats in the newly-built block of flats have been allocated to the families whose homes were damaged as a result of the failure of construction carried out by a private builder at Arami 72-80 in Yerevan. The honour of opening was given to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and the director of “D and H group” Vahe Petrosyan.
It should be noted that a criminal case was started by the department of state interest defence of the RA Chief Prosecutor’s Office in December 2011 regarding taking big amounts by cheating and abusing confidence of the residents in 2005-2011. The constructor of the failed building was “Gapbnakshin” Ltd. The total area of the building at Arami 72-80 was about 21000 sq m, but the constructors sold 53000 sq m. “One flat in the building at Arami 72-80 was sold to 8 buyers and in fact 476 families became the victims of dishonesty losing big amounts. The citizens had to turn ti the President of the Republic expecting his help in this issue. As a result the President instructed to form a special inter-departmental commission in March, 2012. Taking into account that it problem referred to 476 families it was vital to find a non-standard solution. A part of the citizens suffered the dishonesty were given flats in this building at Tsitsernakaberdi ½, the other part was allocated flats in the block of flats in Arami street. So the the problem got a complete solution», stressed the Mayor answering the questions of the journalists.
Afterwards the Mayor talked to the residents, visited the flats of the building and assessed the work done.The building built in correspondence with all necessary standards is provided with all conveniences. Expressing gratitude for the allocation of flats the residents stressed that they really faced the danger of losing their money paid for flats, but due to the assistance of the President of the Republic they became the owners of flats. The area surrounding the newly built complex with total area of 65000 sq m has been completely improved: benches,dustbins, bowers, children's games have been constructed in the yard of the building.
