During the regular working meeting in the City Hall, Mayor Taron Margaryan was reported that first-aid post supplying with necessary medicines and materials in schools had been completed. The Mayor instructed to organize inspections to municipal schools to study the work of school canteens and to control the quality of food catering. Besides, it was instructed to control the quality of food delivered to kindergartens.
Concerning illegal construction and land occupation prevention and elimination of their consequences the head of the Department of Urban Development and Land Control reported that 9 cases of violations had been revealed the previous week and corresponding administrative records had been drawn up. It was reported that by September 30 the month of safe traffic would be continued in the capital and strengthened control would be set over the traffic in the areas adjacent to schools and other educational establishments. All passenger transportation companies were instructed to take corresponding actions to provide regular transport work increasing the number of vehicles.
Concerning street vending prevention activities it was reported that 11 administrative violations had been revealed the previous week.
By the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan the Department of Trade and Services with the assistance of corresponding divisions of the administrative districts and Yerevan department of the RA Police go on citywide inspections aimed at the prevention of illegal street vending. It was reported that due to the consistent work carried out in the 10 recent days the illegal street vending had been eliminated in the area adjacent to the markets in Vantyan and Svachyan streets in Malatia-Sebastia district, in the area adjacent to building materials market in Vardanants and Gnuni streets in Kentron district, in the area adjacent to Sasuntsi David station in Erebuni district, in the areas of Guy avenue in Nor Nork district and Garegin Nzhdeh square in Shengavit district. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to set everyday control jointly with the police.
“The control in this regard must be permanent and we must go on prevention of illegal street vending. Some people try to make create false impression that we make it impossible for residents to trade. But the requirement is firm: commercial activities are to be carried out only at market places and other areas provided for trade. We neither forbid nor hinder their commercial activities determined by law. Thus, such opinions are unjustified. Moreover, many residents carry out their commercial activities in the places provided for it and they have no problems. We will go on elimination of illegal street vending until everybody understands that streets are not provided for vending”, stressed the Mayor.
As a result of everyday control over wastes dumping in inappropriate places 60 disciplinary records had been drawn up. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the heads of administrative districts to carry out systematic work in this regard.
