The second agricultural fair has been reopened in the capital
Today the second fair of agricultural products has been opened by the RA Ministry of Agriculture and with the assistance of Yerevan Municipality in the area adjacent to Malibu café in the capital.
RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan and Yerevan Deputy Mayor David Ohanyan were present at the ceremony of opening of the fair. The Minister and the Deputy Mayor walked about the pavilions of the fair, talked to the sellers and the buyers, heard out to the problems concerning them, as well as did some shopping.
“Our main ides is to support rural economy, to organize the realization of the goods produced by farmers The Ministry has been organizing such agricultural fairs for the fifth year running”, said the RA Minister Sergo Karapetyan. According to the Minister, this year the second fair opened earlier than usual: taking into account the demand of the population for agricultural products the area has become more well-arranged and more farmers have applied for participation. There are more than 120 pavilions here. Deputy Mayor of Yerevan David Ohanyan assured that the cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture would be continued and I accordance with Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan’s instruction new areas would be separated for agricultural fairs if necessary. Deputy Mayor also reminded that because of probation of illegal open-air vending 34 small markets had been opened in all administrative districts. The fairs are organized every Saturday and Sunday, farmers from different marzes take part in them and offer the consumers the goods of own production.
To exclude the participation of resellers permanent control is set by the organizers.
