This year, Yerevan’s community schools welcomed around 11,000 first-graders.
To extend his congratulations to the students on the occasion of the new academic year, Mayor Tigran Avinyan visited Secondary School No. 187.
“Today marks the beginning of a new school year. Thousands of children return to their classrooms, and hundreds of little ones set off on the exciting journey called education.
Dear first-graders, today your school opens its doors to you. Here, you will meet your first friends, learn to read and write and face your first challenges. I am confident that you will come to love your school and make us proud every single day with your achievements.
Dear teachers, you not only educate, but also shape mindsets and instill values. Your role in building the society of tomorrow is truly invaluable. I am sure that, throughout this academic year, your dedication and commitment will help our children become not only skilled professionals, but also kind and responsible citizens.
Dear parents, today marks the beginning of a new and important chapter in your children’s lives. I hope the joy you felt this morning stays with you throughout their educational journey.
The first day of school is not only a celebration for every family; it is a celebration for the entire city of Yerevan. Our city develops through the knowledge and dreams of our children. May this day be the start of a journey filled with success for both our children and our city. Good luck on your new journey,” the mayor said in his congratulatory address.
