✅ The current leaseholder of the front part of Mashtots square owned a number of entities before 2019. On May 16, 2018 the former Mayor increased the area to be given for rent so that became 1048 sq m instead of 350 sq m.

✅After taking the office Mayor Hayk Marutyan cancelled the latest resolution, and as a result of certain negotiations, the constructions registered in this area with the right of ownership have been dismantled and the right for ownership for them was reconsidered.

✅Instead of it, the leaseholder of the area received the possibility to modernize the area within the terms stipulated in the contract. After the term of the leasing contract is expired, the plot together with the construction will be passed to the community. Thus, the community will benefit from it as the public area will be return to the city.

✅After the permission for modernization was given, the department of land control of the Municipality revealed four cases of violation and imposed administrative penalty on the constructor: the cases took place in February, in May, and in July (twice). The last penalty was imposed on July 23. Currently, the volumes of violations their consequences are examined and the construction permission might be suspended.

✅The trees cut down in Mashtots square will be replaced with other trees which will be of a better quality.
