"It is impossible to switch from unified ticket system to a 100 dram system": Mayor Tigran Avinyan
During the regular working meeting, it was reported that work is underway to ensure proportional distribution of the fleet across the route network, which will enhance efficient and high-quality service.
"Dear Yerevan residents, first of all, I would like to thank all of you, those people who constantly use public transport. I would like to thank you for your comprehensive support of the policy pursued by Yerevan Municipality. The transition to the new ticket sales system was not easy. The introduction of a single ticket sales system is primarily done to ensure that Yerevan has high-quality transport and high-quality service. It is impossible to return from the unified ticket system to the 100 dram system," the Mayor noted and also thanked the drivers for their patience.

According to data received in January 2025 from 161 air monitoring stations installed at construction sites in Yerevan, the average value of the air quality index (AQI) for PM2.5 was 149, and for PM10 - 104. These indicators are in the unhealthy range for sensitive groups (100-150). By the way, these devices are installed at construction sites and do not provide data on background air pollution. At the same time, according to observations carried out by the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center SNCO of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Armenia, in January the amount of undifferentiated dust in the air exceeded the maximum permissible indicator 2.0 times.
"The activity of Yerevan Municipality in this matter should not be limited only to the powers of Yerevan Municipality and, therefore, this should become one of our top priorities. We have installed a large number of devices for measuring air pollution and saw that this season, due to various factors, we have a problem with air quality. However, there are also anthropogenic factors, and in cooperation with our partners, we need to take active steps in this direction. We also need to make significant changes in our greening policy in favour of evergreen tree species, as they contribute to some extent to improving air quality,” the Mayor emphasized.
