Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the opening ceremony of the newly built block of flats at Margaryan 45 in Ajapnyank district. About 100 families living in the dormitory buildings with high accident rate at Sisakyan 3 and Nor Aresh 35 st, N 127/1 will start living in the safe and comfortable flats. The Mayor solemnly handed the keys to the new flats to the happy owners. Congratulating the residents Mayor Taron Margaryan once again assured that the Municipality had always been and would be next to the residents and would go on gradual solution of the problems which seemed to be unsolvable for years.
«The problem of the residents of the buildings with high accident rate has always been in the center of attention of the city authorities and particularly in the recent years we have concrete steps in this regard. As a result of the work of the commission formed by my decision in 2012 we have been able to specify the demand and the volumes necessary for complete solution of the problem. The problem was also at the focus of attention of the President of the Republic and in 2013, jointly with the Government we provided 207 families whose resettlement was urgent with new flats. To continue the program last year we started the construction of 4 additional buildings and 100 flats of this building at Margaryan 45 today have been given to the residents of the dormitory buildings at Sisakyan 3 and Nor Aresh 35 st. N 127/1», said the mayor.
The blocks of flats built and still being built on the place of the previous damaged buildings correspond to the modern standards of seismic stability. The blocks of flats being built at Shinararneri 15, Shinararnery 6 and Sisakyan 16 in Ajapnyak district will have been put into operation by the end of the year. On the whole, with the construction of new buildings the problem of resettlement of 450 families living in the high accident rate buildings will be solved and in fact the problem of providing all the residents of high accident rate buildings registered at the moment of January 1, 2014 in the capital, will be solved.
«I'd like to stress once again that with the construction of the 4 buildings we will completely solve the problem of providing the residents of high accident rate buildings registered in the capital at the moment of January 1, 2014 will have been solved by the end of the year as we promised. And this is certainly a big achievement as we can solve the resettlement problem of 650 families. Our policy is firm and if such a problem raise in the future we will go on being next to our residents and finding solutions to the problem», stressed Taron Margaryan.
The Mayor walked about the flats and assessed the work done together with the residents. By the way, the whole process of construction was under the Mayor's control and the Mayor often familiarized himself with the process on the spot, during the working visits. The flats are allotted to the residents completely repaired, ready for living. Each flat is provided with individual heating systems. Expressing their satisfaction to Mayor Taron Margaryan the residents noted that this program of social significance had been awaited for years.
It should be noted that this program implemented by Yerevan Municipality is resettlement of the residents of high accident rate buildings and it doesn't provide improvement of housing conditions and allocation of additional flats in accordance with the number of the dwellers living in the flat. The fats are allocated in accordance with the surface of the area of the compensated flat. Moreover, it should be mentioned that in many cases the area of the new flat is about 3 times bigger than that of their former dormitory flat. Besides, all the residents are provided property certificates no matter what their status had been before the resettlement.. After the resettlement the damaged buildings are dismanlted.
