According to the decision of the Council of Elders, prior to the festive events of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2798” Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan handed keys to new flats to the family of Azatamartik Arthur Karapetyan fallen in Getashen village (Shahumyan district) in 1991; to the family of the participant of self defense and liberation battles at the border of RA and NKR, the member of militia unit “Sasuntsi David” injured during the battles Virab Sargsyan; to the Arm SSR People's Artist, laureate of the stage prize, laureate of 4 international contests, awardee of St Mesrop Mashtots order, of Order of Honour, Cavalier of the Order “Surb Sahak-Surb Mesrop”, professor of Yerevan State Conservatoire Svetlana Navasardyan; as well as to the family of Arthur Safaryan and Lusine Bakunts who have eight under age children.

With the right for free use flats were also allotted to 4 more families as they need living conditions improvement.
Taking into account the services during Artsakh liberation war, the significant contribution to creation and popularization of Armenian national and patriotic songs and the necessity of living conditions improvement RA Honoured Culture Worker Gusan Haykazuni was handed the keys to the new flat by Yerevan Mayor.
Congratulating the owners of new flats Taron Margaryan assured that such initiatives of Yerevan Municipality will be long-term.
“I am glad to welcome you under the hospitable roof of Yerevan City hall, and taking the opportunity, I'd like to congratulate you on Yerevan day. For several years, at the suggestion of the President of the Republic, within the framework of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2798” events we have had a good tradition to grant new flats to the families of fallen and disabled azatamartiks, to distinguished art figures, and to the families with many children. As the Mayor of Yerevan, I am doing one of my most pleasant duties. Be sure that such initiatives will be long-term and we have done and will do our best so that your problems will be solved as soon as possible. And now I want to congratulate you on getting new flats”, said the Mayor.
Expressing gratitude for long-awaited solution to the problem the owners of the new flats in their turn wished the capital to have more possibilities to make more families happy granting them new flats within the frames of this initiative. Stressing the importance of consistent work of Yerevan Municipality in the city development, they also outlined that owing to it Yerevan is becoming more beautiful and comfortable.
