November 12 is scheduled for citywide clean-up and tree planting
During the regular working meeting in the City Hall chaired by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan the head of Municipality Department of Nature Protection Armen Martirosyan reported that planting of tulip bulbs and cleaning of parks are going on in the capital.
It was reported that to meet the instruction of Yerevan Mayor corresponding discussion with the specialists of the sphere was organized during which it was offered to hold the tree planting on the second Saturday of November. Taking into account specialists' suggestion Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to schedule the citywide clean-up and tree planting for November 12 and to start preparations.
“In this issue our main requirement is the same-to organize tree planting only in irrigated areas. Therefore, first of all prepare for tree planting those areas where we have installed new irrigation systems. Inventory the areas where planting of new saplings is needed. I have noted many times that citywide tree planting shouldn't be of formal character, so first of all we should select irrigated areas so that proper care for the young trees can be provided. Pay attention to the areas where dried trees have been cut down. Empty tree beds are to be filled with new saplings”, said Taron Margaryan.
Department of Communal Services was instructed to carry on local clean-ups in yard areas, parks and other places in parallel with the preparations for the citywide clean-up. To ensure active participation of state establishments, public organization and population in the clean-up and tree planting action it was instructed to inform them in advance s well as to carry out corresponding activities to provide them with saplings and technical means.
