“Those who dump garbage in unpermitted areas must be applied strict punishment”: Yerevan Mayor
Large-scale building processes should not create conveniences for townspeople. During the regular working meeting Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan expressed discontent with improper arrangement of building sites. It was instructed to set permanent control via frequent inspections and to ensure that constructors follow sanitary norms and meet the requirements for building sites arrangement.

Strict punishment must be applied towards those who dump garbage in unpermitted areas: the instruction was given to study the situation and submit a proposal to reconsider the amount of penalty provided for that according to the law “On Administrative violations”.

Regarding the pace of implementation of the international loan programs in the capital it was reported that large-scale activities are going on in the road segments of Argavand-Shirak and Babajanyan-Ashtarak. The opening of Argavand-Shirak segment being constructed within the framework of the sustainable urban development investment program is scheduled for June 4. It also includes the 5th largest bridge in Yerevan built over the Hrazdan river. The length of the bridge is 252 m and it width is 28 m.
The draft of the construction of a new parking are for buses in Jrvezh is ready and has been sent to examination. Negotiations with the Asian Development Bank are to start afterwards so that to begin the practical phase.
Overhauling activities are going in 13 preschools of 15 ones to be overhauled within the Energy Efficiency Program of Yerevan. Currently, negotiations are going to increase the number of preschools to be completely renovated.
Within the scope of the Program of Solid Waste Management in Yerevan the process of closing Nubarashen and Ajapnyak landfills and the second stage of the competition for the construction of a new landfill in Nubarashen are going on.
