Official reception on the event of 25th anniversary of cooperation between Yerevan and Marseille

The delegation headed by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan took part in the official reception organized on the event of the 25th anniversary of signing the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between Yerevan and Marseille.

Expressing gratitude to Yerevan Mayor for accepting the invitation Mayor Gaudin noted that this visit is another opportunity to discuss the programs of cooperation between the two cities and outline the plans for future. Expressing satisfaction with the effective cooperation formed between Yerevan and Marseille Jean-Claude Gaudin thanked Taron Margaryan for contribution to strengthening the bilateral ties.
“Mister Mayor, we can state the fact of really effective cooperation between Yerevan and Marseille. I must outline that every time when I have an opportunity to speak about Armenian and French relationship I proudly point out the effective interaction between the two cities and stress that there is your personal contribution in it and I sincerely grateful to you for it. Your visit is another proof of deep respect and friendship between our cities and I am sure that all the programs we made agreement for during this visit will certainly be fulfilled”, said Jean-Claude Gaudin.
In his speech Mayor Taron Margaryan first of all expressed gratitude to Marseille Mayor for the invitation and warm reception, stressing that he attach particular importance to cooperation and friendly relationship between the two cities.
“It’s really an honour for me to be here today, next to our friends and to mark the 25th anniversary of our successful cooperation. The last two decades were distinguished with development of Armenian-French relations in the spheres of decentralized interaction, economy and culture. Within that time a number of joint projects aimed at the welfare of residents of two cities were fulfilled”, said Taro Margaryan.
Attaching particular importance to the role of the Armenian community in France, particularly in Marseille, Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed confidence that this factor is an additional stimulus for further development of th relationship between the two cities.
In his speech Yerevan Mayor also referred to the events dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Yerevan foundation and the 17th summit of Francophonia which is to be held in the capital of Armenia. Taking the opportunity Taron Margaryan invited those present to Yerevan assuring that the doors of the hospitable city are always open for friends.
“Mister Mayor, I would like to congratulate you once again on the jubilee of our cooperation and expressing my gratitude fro the invitation I want stress once ore that I highly appreciate your personal contribution to strengthening the ties between Yerevan and Marseille. Be sure that you are always a welcome guest in our capital”, said Taron Margaryan.
Within the frames of the official reception, for significant contribution to strengthening the ties between Yerevan and Marseille, and on the event of the 25th anniversary of cooperation, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded the Mayor of Marseille, the Honorary Citizen of Yerevan Jean-Claude Gaudin with Yerevan Mayor’s Gold Medal.
