The RA President Serzh Sargsyan together with Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the Chairman of the Board of “Gazprom” OJSC Aleksey Miller, Chairman of the Board and the Manager General of “Gasprom Armenia” CJSC Vardan Harutyunyan and numerous guests was present at the ceremony of foundation laying of the new educational and sport complex to be built at Tsarav Aghbyur 55/25. The project is implemented within the frames of “Gazprom for children” program. The construction of the complex the preliminary cost of which is USD 49,3 million in AMD equivalent, will be completely fulfilled by “Gazprom” OCJS. It should be noted that the proposal of the investment project submitted by “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC was discussed and approved by the Council of Elders of Yerevan. According to the draft, it is provided to construct three objects- and educational, health improvement and recreational zones in the area of 31 841 sq m. The educational complex will include a kindergarten for 250 children, a school for 950 pupils- including a high school for 450 pupils and a secondary school for 500 pupils, a covered swimming pool and a mini-football ground. The sport and health improvement zone will include a complex with a multi-purpose game hall, a year-round covered ice-rink with artificial ice provided for 350 people to hold trainings, ice hockey, figure skating and free style skating competitions, an underground parking for 85 cars. According to the draft, the educational complex can admit about 2000 people daily. It’s provided to create 230 working places for the operation and service of the complex.

Answering the questions of the journalists Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that the investment project to be implemented by “Gazprom Armenia” company is of great significance as the living quarter developed here needs the infrastructures which are to be provided by this project.
“At the very first stage of forming this quarter we discuss at the Municipality the problem of necessity to have a kindergarten and a school in this area and today we can state with delight that the problem is being solved within the frames of this project”, said Taron Margaryan.
Referring to the promise to create a park in the area adjacent to the blocks of flats built in Tsarav Aghbyur street within the social program of housing implemented by “The union of graduates of YSU” NGO, the Mayor once again stated that the project will be certainly fulfilled.
“Last spring when I was here with a working visit I promised the residents that we would lay a park in this area. We also presented the preliminary draft. I assure you once again that this promise will be certainly kept, we only postponed the terms because during the implementation of the construction by “Gazprom Armenia” the movement of machinery would harm the park. That is why we postponed the construction of the park, but be sure that shortly after finishing the activities we will create a park on this area of 5500 sq m”, stressed Mayor Taron Margaryan.
