Chess open tournament in Yerevan
The international chess tournament “Yerevan Open” has started in Yerevan which is organized by Yerevan Chess Federation in cooperation with Yerevan Municipality. The tournament is the biggest open championship in Armenia since its Independence.
The president of Yerevan Chess Federation Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Gayane Melkom Melkomyan were present at the opening event. They greeted the participants and wished them good luck.
311 chess players who have FIDE rating from 14 countries take part in the tournament. Among the participants are Grandmasters and International Masters. The prize fund is 11 million AMD.
The tournament lasts till October 22.
