A Christmas event n Republic square
On January 6 a big festive event dedicated to Christmas was organized in Republic square within the program of festive events arranged by the Municipality of Yerevan. At the beginning of the event the prior of Surb Sargis church of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese Shahe Hayrapetyan convened the blessing speech of the vicar of the Ararat Diocese Navasard Kchoyan as well as presented the symbol of Christmas. The townspeople and the guests of the capital were greeted by individual performers, ethnographic, folk song and dance groups “Karin”, “Maratuk” and others. According to those present, these events traditionally organized by the Municipality not only provide festive mood but also have great significance in upbringing and raising the patriotic spirit of particularly the younger generation.
