Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan welcomed the Regional Director of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) for Eastern and Central Asia Vinhay Saldanha. Greeting the guest Taron Margaryan noted that Yerevan Municipality attaches importance to joint programs realized in various spheres of urban economy with international partner-organizations. The UNDP office in Armenia with which a number of programs have been implemented is not an exclusion.

“Our cooperation with the Armenian office of the UNDP is really successful and we welcome cooperation expansion with partner –organizations. We greet and attach importance to any program aimed at preservation of heath of the population so I assure you, that within our powers we are ready to assist in the implementation of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS”, said the Mayor of Yerevan.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome and stressing the importance of the Municipality willingness to cooperate the Regional Director of the Joint UN program on HIV/AIDS for Eastern and Central Asia Vinhay Saldanha presented Taron Margaryan the details of the program and the expected results.
At the end of the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan suggested creating a working group which will specify the frames of cooperation and outline the consistence of further actions.
