Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan conducted the working meeting with the heads of department of Architecture and Urban Development as well as the unit for regulation of urban development activity and the head of “Yerevanproject” CJSC. The coordinator of the sphere of architecture and urban development, Chie Architect Tigran Barseghyan and Mayor’s Advisor Vahagn Vermishyan were present at the meeting. During the meeting the persons in charge of the sphere reported to Mayor Taron Margaryan on the work done in 2017 and plans for 2018.

Generally estimating the work done as positive the Mayor presented his approaches and remarks
“To build the city it’s necessary to come up with interesting proposals which will be in harmony with the surroundings. As specialists of the sphere you must set the requirements necessary for proper presentation of the architectural look of the capital. This sphere plays an important role in the formation of convenient environment becoming a part of Yerevan history. It’s highly important that we develop active cooperation with corresponding specialists from our partner cities which will give the opportunity to apply the most successful experience in Yerevan”, stressed the Mayor of the capital.
Mayor Taron Margaryan also stressed the particular importance of getting a better position in “Doing business” rating and implementation of investment programs.
“We must activate the work of those spheres of urban economy which are connected with getting a better position in “Doing business” rating. In 2016 we started implementation of the program fro simplification of the process and reduction of the time for giving urban development documentation and building permissions. All this is carried out within the scope of the measures aimed at business environment improvement in Yerevan. However it should be noted that there is inappropriate awareness of the society. Therefore definite steps are to be taken in this direction, Citizens and entrepreneurs must be aware of the simplification of the procedure of giving urban development documentation and be sure that we will provide them with full information”, stressed Taron Margaryan.
