Within the scope of annual reports of the heads of administrative districts Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a working meeting with the staff of Shengavit administrative district. During the meting the head of Shengavit district Armen Sargsyan first presented the report on the work done in the district in 2017 then the plans for 2018. Talking about the activities carried out in various spheres of urban economy Armen Sargsyan reported that the programs were completely fulfilled in all directions and in accordance with the schedule. So, consistent activities were carried out in Shengavit in the direction of yard improvement, housing fund preservation, renovation and overhauling of damaged front balconies, educational establishments, social support as well as landscaping and expansion of irrigation network. The problem of external lighting was solved in 40 more streets and lanes as well as about 70 yard areas. It was reported that in 2017 active cooperation with Artsakh districts, RA provinces and foreign partner cities was continued. 

Presenting the plans for 2018 the head of Shengavit district noted that besides the activities outlined by the annual program certain steps are being taken to develop the cooperation with the private sector and to increase the investment attraction.
“Mister Mayor, in 2018 large-scale activities will be carried out in different spheres of economy and I assure that the staff of the district is ready for everyday consistent work and implementation of the programs included in the five-year program of Yerevan development. Everyday cooperation will be continued with the partner structures of life support system”, said Armen Sargsyan.

Generally estimating the work done by the district as positive, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan particularly attached importance to effective development of the industrial potential of the district.

“We must restore the industrial potential of Shengavit district implementing the programs which will encourage the investors and provide economic growth. The industrial areas of the district must serve their goal.
Referring to the volumes of the activities carried out by our team during the recent years our co-citizens expect more as they have made sure that our team can do and will do more for the sake of convenience of Yerevan and its residents. It is a high appreciation and we must meet the expectations of the residents. I am sure that due to everyday caring work we will implement all the programs we have promised”, said Taron Margaryan.
Yerevan Mayor also attracted the staff’s attention to the creation of infrastructures with the aim of tourism development.
“In the years to come we must carry out such programs which will be aimed at city tourism development. Yerevan should be completely and properly discovered both for tourists and the residents. From this point of view Shengavit district has all the possibilities taking into account that here are Karmir Blur and Shengavit archaeological areas which are the best witnesses of Yerevan’s centuries-old history”, said the Mayor.
Referring to the problem of the city center relief for transport flows Mayor Taron Margaryan outlined the large-scale road-construction programs initiated in Shengavit which are of big significance for traffic relief in the center of the capital and outstand with high quality and modern solutions.
