Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan convened an expanded conference with the employees of the Department of Urban Development and Land Control of the Municipality and of the public security service. The Mayor expressed his discontent with the defects in work and meeting the obligations.
“Firm requirement was set before all of you-to be more consistent and strict in the issue of revelation, prevention and dismantling of illegal constructions, as well as to communicate with the residents fairly. A dishonest action of even one employee cast a shadow upon all others. All of you were warned that any violation of the determined order will be considered by me as neglect of official duties and it will certainly have corresponding consequences. The head of the department and the head of the service must have controlled proper implementation of established order, however regardless the volumes of the work done I consider the work and the principles unsatisfactory. This year 15 employees were fired for breach of our trust and the trust of our co-citizens. Those who broke the established order and the principles of work must be dismissed without any doubt. However the problem can't be settled by just dismissal. Work out mechanisms of control which make it possible to exclude corruption risks. I expect the results which will be able to settle the problems of the sphere radically and within a short time”, said Taron Margaryan.
