During the regular meeting of the Council of Elders held on October 26 the Council took a decision on giving the Yerevan community-owned area located in an administrative building at P. Buzand 1/3 to cultural and educational foundation “VEM” with the right of free use till September 30, 2018. The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Real Estate Management Arsen Amyan who was presenting the draft said that the aim of “VEM” cultural and educational foundation is national, spiritual and cultural heritage enlightenment, propaganda and modernization. It was noted that the foundation also implement various educational programs, assistance to orphanages, nursing homes, needy people.

By another decision of the Council, taking into account the auspicious influence of chess on the development of children's logical thinking as well as attaching importance to the necessity of chess school necessity areas were allotted by the right of free use for unlimited time to “Yerevan Kentron children and youth’s chess school” and “Yerevan Malatia-Sebastia children and youth's chess school” non-commercial organization. Other items on the agenda were also approved.
The regular meeting of the Council of Elders was followed by the questions and answers during which Yerevan Mayor, the heads of administrative districts and the heads of municipal subdivisions answered the questions of the Council members.
The next regular meeting of the Council of Elder is scheduled for November 29.
