The exhibition representing the Urartian period has been opened in the Hermitage

Within the frames of the Days of Yerevan held in Saint Petersburg Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the Hermitage. The director of the state museum Mikhail Piotrovski, meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan suggested having a short excursion about some exhibition halls of the world-famous museum.
By the right of hospitable host, Mikhail Piotrovski accompanied Taron Margaryan and the members of the Yerevan delegation and showed them some samples of the rich collections on permanent display. Referring to the century and half history of the Hermitage the director of the famous museum informed that at the present more than 3 million cultural values are kept at the museum.
Then Mikhail Piotrovski accompanied Mayor Taron Margaryan to the exhibition hall of culture and art «Urartu» where exclusive samples of Urartian period are displayed.
As the director of the museum assured, the main part of the displayed samples is really exclusive and they have their unique place in the rich collection of the world-known museum.
After watching the Urartian samples Mikhail Piotrovski invited the Mayor to get acquainted with the exclusive values on permanent display in the hall of Armenian culture.
Having watched them Mayor Taron Margaryan thanked Mikhail Piotrovski for warm welcome and for showing the samples in person, as well as for the treatment to the Armenian cultural values at the Hermitage.
