During the current working conference in the City Hall chaired by Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan it was mentioned that though the administrative districts were carrying out active and continuous activities directed at snow cleaning in the capital and at elimination of snow piles, the results are still not satisfactory especially in pavement and yard areas. On the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, icicles are being removed from the roofs of living and public buildings.
“We should focus all our strength at complete finishing the icicles’ removal from roofs. Otherwise, it would become more difficult to prevent danger when melting”, noted Kamo Areyan and added that the work regarding blocks of flats where there is no need for additional technical means should be carried out by condominiums. To protect from floods caused by snow melting as well as to ensure regular water drainage it was instructed to fulfill cleaning of drainage systems: drain pipes, channels and gutters, and submit the complete program of the activities. It was reported that the vehicles parked at pavements create certain difficulties in snow cleaning activities.
The head of Transport Department reported that the list of the pavements in the administrative districts where illegal parking is carried out has been completely studied and is already ready. In this regard it was instructed to take steps with corresponding structures to prevent such cases. "In the approach of the spring we should start pavement improvement activities, and illegal parking hinders this process. Thus, we should radically eliminate this occurrence and pass the pavements to our residents”, stressed the Deputy Mayor.
It was also reported that the monitoring of public transport work is going on in teamwork with different structures and NGOs. The studies are going on in about 100 routes. Referring to illegal trade prevention in the porches and yards of blocks of flats, Kamo Areyan noted that with the aim of elimination of this problem the heads of the administrative districts were instructed to strengthen control and to activate the cooperation with condominiums for maximally efficient organization of the activities. The head of Health Department reported that the general situation with sanitary conditions in the markets and underground crossings of the capital had been assessed as satisfactory in the result of carried out inspections. Corresponding subdivisions of the administrative districts carry out everyday control over the situation.
