On the instruction of Yerevan mayor Karen Karapetyan with the purpose of public transportation regulation in the capital, the process of installation of video cameras in 60 busy crossings and stops of Yerevan has been over. During the current working conference the mayor instructed to go on the on- line monitoring and set permanent control. Within the frames of "Safe city" conception the mayor suggested implementing a joint program combining in one general base the video cameras operating at the disposal of the police and other structures.
With the aim of the population security video cameras are being installed in the Yerevan Underground as well. It has been instructed to finish the work at the stated time and to pay tight attention to the quality of the metro services. Turning to the process of dismantling of illegal, expired and non-operating stalls, Karen Karapetyan instructed to continue the work consistently and simultaneously emphasized that no permission for putting new stalls was to be given. It was reported that by the 1st of July 893 illegal non-operating stalls had already been dismantled in the capital.
Regarding injections it was reported that in the last 6 months the budget performance as regards the rates of income collection, made up 93%. It was also reported that in accordance with the mayor's instruction, the specification of base for property taxes is in process, and on this basis of the specification certain improvement of financial rates are also expected. Some positive development has been fixed in fee collecting in wastes management and sanitary cleaning due to bringing to contractual field a significant number of entities and individuals.
Regarding the program of yard areas improvement, Karen Karapetyan instructed to go on cleaning up the yards from “gardens” illegally occupied by residents and to create for the residents comfortable recreation zones instead of them. In the mentioned areas sport equipment and children’s playgrounds granted by “Pyunic” charitable fund are to be placed. It was reported that to fulfill the mayor’s instruction large-scale improvement of the main highways entering the city is going on at the moment. The middle part of Yerevan – Ashtarak,Yerevan – Zovuni highways and the areas adjacent to Isakov avenue leading from Argavand crossing to the capital are to be completely landscaped after being improved. According to the program, the mentioned areas are to be supplied with irrigation system as well.
Regarding the activities and problems of condominiums, Karen Karapetyan noted that though the condominiums are structures willingly created by residents, a lot of owners of blocks of flats aren’t aware of their rights and obligations nowadays. The mayor stressed once again that the whole process, beginning with the fee collection up to efficient management of the expenses is to be controlled by residents themselves, and the heads of administrative districts have been assigned to work maximally effectively with the heads of condominiums.
