On the instruction of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan, by the beginning of the current heating season all the schools in the capital which are still not heated will be provided with heating systems. During the working conference Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the responsible persons of the corresponding structures to finish installing heating systems and to ensure their complete operation in 17 municipality subordinated schools and in 9 schools subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Education by November 15. “In 2011 we were able to complete installation of heating systems in kindergartens providing the children with proper comfortable conditions. I consider this fact a big and important achievement for Yerevan. By the beginning of the heating season we are to solve the problem of heating in schools so that our children could attend school and get education comfortably”, said Taron Margaryan and added that unheated cultural centers, libraries and sport schools will also be included in the further programs.
The Mayor was reported that in the approach of September 1 secondary schools and the areas surrounding them had been mainly well-arranged and are ready for the beginning of the new academic year. Taron Margaryan instructed to take appropriate measures towards putting into operation the new overground pedestrian crossings being constructed within the programs of 2012 by September 1. The Mayor especially emphasized the operation of the crossings being constructed in the surroundings of educational establishments instructing to control the performance within the fixed terms. Within the framework of green areas protection and expansion program Taron Margaryan instructed to set tight control particularly over the operation of irrigation systems and arrangement of proper irrigation of the areas adjacent to the memorial complex of Tsitsernakaberd, Nork and Dalma gardens and other forest areas.
“The forest zones in the capital are poor and regardless of who they are subordinated to they are in the territory of Yerevan and we should take appropriate measures to preserve them. The irrigation of the mentioned areas is to be under permanent focus of corresponding structures as well as under direct control of the heads of the administrative districts. Even if the mentioned areas are not under the Municipality jurisdiction we can't allow them to stay uncared and endanger them in the course of time", said Taron Margaryan and instructed to work in team with the responsible persons of the mentioned areas.
The Mayor also instructed to arrange sanitary cleaning activities in the area of the Hrazdan gorge and set permanent control over its proper conditions. Taron Margaryan instructed to involve all the structures subordinated to the Municipality as well as the economy entities in the clean-ups organized at weekends and watch proper performance. The corresponding structures were instructed to organize cleaning of drainage pipes in the streets.
Everyday control is going on over the quality of public transport services. The head of the Transport Department reported that 10 vehicles had been temporally withdrawn from the itineraries the previous week because of improper sanitary conditions corresponding measures were taken toward exclusion of car parking in unpermitted places, particularly at bus stops and arch passages. It was reported that holding the competitions for Yerevan intra-urban bus and mini-bus regular transportation is still in process. Regarding illegal construction and land occupation prevention the head of the Department of Urban Development and Land Control reported that within the previous week 18 records had been drawn up. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to go on strict control in this regard to exclude possible cases. The Mayor was reported that the process of cleaning the walls of blocks of flats and columns from advertisements stuck by unknown persons is still going on. Besides, this week the first party of signboards provided for advertisements is to be placed in appropriate places.
Referring to the directive of the Mayor to provide the statues and monuments in the capital with lighting till dawn the head of "Yerqaghluys" CJSC reported that the lighting hours of the inventoried 63 monuments had been prolonged and now they are lit till dawn. It was reported that certain work is carried out toward finishing the decorative illumination of the statue of Vardan Mamikonyan in possibly short terms. The head of "The Center for Management Technologies of Yerevan" CJSC reported that the installation of the WiFi systems in the area of the Underground had been completed and the activities of supplying the gardens and parks of the capital with the same systems were still going on.
