Along with the snowfall that began on the night of November 26-27 in the high-lying administrative districts of the capital - Arabkir, Kanaker-Zeytun, Avan, Nor Nork, Nork-Marash and Nubarashen - the technical and human resources of the municipal company for waste removal and sanitary cleaning were put into operation. 25 snowplows were working in these areas, sprinkling the streets with a mixture of salt and sand. Then, the cleaning of sidewalks began with the help of small machines. In the morning, all the streets in the specified administrative districts were passable.
It should be noted that in order to avoid accidents, ensure road safety, as well as artificial accumulation of vehicles, it is mandatory for cars to have winter tires. We would also like to remind that, according to the decision of Yerevan Council of Elders made in 2009, business entities are required to clear snow from areas adjacent to their place of business activity, and after precipitation has ceased, to clear asphalt concrete surfaces and tiled sections of sidewalks from accumulated snow and ice.
