Construction of the New Albert Azaryan Gymnastics School Begins
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, together with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Gymnastics School named after Albert Azaryan.
The Government of the Republic of Armenia has allocated 6.9 billion AMD for the project, which was commissioned by the Yerevan Municipality and will be implemented by the Yerevan Urban Development PIU.
Designed to meet international standards, the new sports complex will serve as a modern training center for approximately 300 young athletes. It will also host international tournaments, reinforcing Armenia’s position and recognition in gymnastics and sports.
In 2027, the complex will host the European Gymnastics Championships, marking the first time the event will take place in Armenia.
Construction is to be completed by November 2026.
