10.09.2022

In 2022, 70 million drams was allotted from the city budget to purchase 153 musical instruments of 17 names for community extracurricular institutions. The organizations won in the competition announced by Yerevan Municipality distributed the instruments to cultural objects. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and the First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan participated in the event together with teachers and pupils of the music and art schools.
Presenting the details of the program implementation the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture and Tourism Gosh Sargsyan noted that the community plans to increase the allotments aimed at development of extracurricular institutions making it nearly 100 million drams.
The program targeted at making extracurricular education more available has a social component: sometimes talented children don’t attend music schools because their family can’t afford music instruments.
Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan expressed confidence that due to this program talented children getting their education in cultural centres will represent Armenia at various international and local contests and uphold the honour of their native city and country.
All municipal music and art schools (24) are involved in this program.
