“After 40-year break you have brought an important victory to Yerevan”: Hayk Marutyan rewards gymnast Arthur Davtyan

Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan hosted the representatives of the Armenian national team of gymnastics who participated successfully in the 32nd Olympic games in Tokyo.
The Mayor congratulated the athlete of the Children’s and Youth’s Gymnastics School of Olympic Reserve after Albert Azaryan, the bronze medalist of the 32nd Olympic Games in men’s vault event Arthur Davtyan on the success gained in the Olympics, thanked him for significant contribution to sport development and awarded him with the memory medal of “Erebuni-Yerevan-2800”. The Chief coach of the RA National Team of Gymnastics Hakob Serobyan and coach Hayk Nazaryan were awarded with Mayor’s honorary diploma.

“After over 40-year break in this kind of sport you have brought a very important victory to Yerevan. It’s an honour for our country and out capital city. The city authorities undertook the responsibility to improve the conditions by constructing a new sport school where it would be possible to train and hold international tournaments”, stressed Hayk Marutyan.

Arthur Davtyan thanked the Mayor for appreciation and stressed that no matter what conditions are provided for sportsmen they always try to do their best. The president of the Armenian Federation of Gymnastics Gagik Vanoyan stressed that the attention of the city authorities is inspiring and having the sport school corresponding to international standards is a dream.
