World Social Work Day was marked at Yerevan Municipality with a panel discussion titled “Social Work as a Shared Commitment.” In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized that social protection remains a priority for the Yerevan Municipality. Continuous efforts are being made to expand social assistance programs and make them more accessible, particularly for the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and families in difficult life circumstances.   

The Department of Children and Social Protection of Yerevan Municipality continuously assesses community needs to develop solutions that provide targeted support. As part of this effort, a new initiative has been introduced to create a unified and effective social service system.

A regular session of the “Council for Social Assistance” adjunct to the Mayor of Yerevan was convened to discuss issues concerning families in need of social support in the capital. The meeting was chaired by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sargis Madatyan.
